Emirates Post hosts UPU's Trainpost program for 20 participants from regional postal administrations

Emirates Post is hosting a workshop on distance learning and computer-based training (CBT), a program developed by Universal Postal Union (UPU) to develop human resources globally, at the Training and Development Centre, Dubai, from December 12 to 23.

Twenty representatives from postal administrations of the Middle East and North Africa region are taking part in the 12-day workshop that is being conducted by Mr. Lahcene Chouiter, CIS and Arab Countries Regional Program/ Human Resources Development and Training Manager, International Bureau, UPU.

The event consolidates the position of Emirates Post's Training and Development Centre as an accredited Trainpost training centre and the region's leading provider of postal training, with unmatched facilities and ideal environment. The Trainpost program provides course materials for postal training managers and instructors, as well as training models for course designers. The Training and Development Centre has already downloaded 10 training courses from the Trainpost website.

The Centre is equipped with advanced equipment and facilities, including an auditorium, a meeting room, three training halls, two training cubicles, projectors, latest Smart boards, shared network and AMX system.

"Emirates Post is proud to host this UPU-sponsored workshop in the most advanced postal training program and would like to welcome the regional participants to experience the unique facilities at the Training & Development Centre that make learning so much easier and comfortable," said Mr. Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post. "The holding of this workshop means that UPU has endorsed the standards adopted by our Centre and we can expect many more such programs to be held here."

The participants have come from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, Mauritania, Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Palestine, Iraq and Libya.

Mrs. Wiaam Shihab Ghanem, Manager, Training & Development Centre, expressed her pleasure over UPU's selection of the Training Development Centre for delivering training in Trainpost to regional postal administrations and said this would give the Centre an opportunity to highlight its advanced infrastructure.
