Saudi Post chief visits Emirates Post to enhance mutual cooperation in postal matters

Dr. Benten met Mr. Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post, and held talks on a variety of mutually beneficial issues, with a focus on leveraging Emirates Post's expertise for upgrading postal services in the Kingdom.

Dr. Benten later met a team of senior Emirates Post officials who briefed him on the ongoing as well as future projects of Emirates Post. Mr. Khaled Shahdoor, Assistant Director General, IT Sector, made a presentation covering the advances made by Emirates Post in various fields, especially in IT by developing the advanced POS systems that interlinks all postal outlets and speeds up transactions.

Dr. Benten was also briefed on the Dubai Airport Mail Transit Hub, a dedicated facility for routing of regional mail coming from all over the world.

"Saudi Arabia has a large and well developed postal network and Saudi Post has been doing a remarkable job in improving postal services throughout the Kingdom," remarked Abdullah Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post. "As Emirates Post has deployed new systems to add value and diversify our offering, we welcome visits by officials from brotherly states to study our systems. We are positive the current visit of Dr. Benten will lead to enhanced cooperation that would bring mutual benefits to both sides."

Dr. Benten also visited Emirates Post's Al Ramoul Sorting Centre, Gulf's first fully automated facility that can sort 40,000 letters per hour and can handle over 500,000 letters a day.
