e-TQM College highlights regional online learning experience at e-learning conference in Berlin

Senior officials from e-TQM College, the Dubai-based electronic college specialized in offering programs in Total Quality Management (TQM), were key participants in Online Educa Berlin, one of the world's largest international e-learning conference, held in Berlin from December 2 to 3, 2004.
"Online Educa Berlin presented us a unique opportunity to network with potential partners who have an interest in the Middle East Market," said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar. "Additionally it was an opportunity to project ourselves as the leading provider of online courses in total quality management. It was a highly satisfying experience as we got new insights into and updates on latest developments in the field of online learning."
The Middle East eLearning Forum and Exchange provided a forum for organizations interested in the Middle East to meet with potential international partners, buyers and resellers who are interested in establishing contacts with organizations from the region to develop common projects and business interests. Organisations involved in e-learning were allotted a table to facilitate meetings with potential partners and customers.
"Our participation in Online Educa Online enabled us to highlight our expertise in delivering TQM education online to the Arab world. For example, we are the first in the Middle East to offer a Masters program in Total Quality and Performance Management," added Dr. Al Awar. "As the gathering included high level decision makers from the fields of education, business and government, the forum gave us a platform to initiate a dialogue that could grow into full-time partnerships, enabling e-TQM to consolidate its e-learning offering."
Online Educa Berlin covered several key aspects of e-learning, including e-Learning strategies in companies and public sector organizations and Future trends in e-Learning technology. The keynote speaker in the opening plenary was Nancy DeVincy, General Manager of IBM Learning Solutions. There were 1,572 registered participants from 68 countries.

e-TQM College is a Dubai-based institution that has pioneered e-learning in the Middle East by launching world-class online courses in Total Quality Management. The College was established in January 2002, and inaugurated on September 2002 by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, with the aim of enhancing expertise to provide world-class e-learning programs to the community as well as the private and public sector employees. It is owned by Dubai Government and operates under the umbrella of Dubai Police.
The college is the first of its kind in the world. It has been affiliated as a member of the EFQM, a leading European body for quality management, and has been accepted as a key member of the British Quality Foundation. It aims to be the college of choice for Total Quality Management in the Arab world.
e-TQM College provides e-learning programs to private and public sector employees as well as members of the public. Courses include Foundation Diploma in TQM, Excellence Best Practice Series and Certificate in Quality in Policing.
