Major DTCM advertising campaign creates awareneww about local culture

In its bid to highlight the cultural activities during the DSF-2005 and make the visitors and residents of Dubai aware about the local culture and heritage, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has launched a mega advertising campaign.
In addition, as part of its endeavor to better its activities year after year, it is seeking the valued opinion of the public through a questionnaire. Both the brochure and the questionnaire are available to visitors at all the heritage sites, the VIBs (Visitor Information Bureau) and the DTCM Head Office.
The DTCM Manager Media and Advertising Mr. Ahmed Al Tunaiji, said: "The advertising campaign, which includes print and broadcast media, started on January 11 and will go on until the end of DSF. The various initiatives undertaken by the department are aimed at educating the visitors about the history and the culture of the region."
The department has allocated AED4.2 million budget for the DSF-2005 which runs until February 12.
The department has lined up a wide range of programmes at over 10 major venues in Dubai and Hatta, including two shopping malls, Deira City Centre and BurJuman.
