Iraq Development Program looking to further progress in Iraq
- Iraq: Saturday, February 12 - 2005 at 10:00
- PRESS RELEASE
Following the success of the recent elections in Iraq, the Iraq Development Program is looking to further aid the country's development and full integration into the international business community.
This week saw the formal launch of the Iraq Development Program, which will hold its inaugural summit in Amman, Jordan on 28-30 June 2005. The summit will provide the opportunity for international companies to hold face-to-face discussions with senior Iraqi officials and business leaders. These discussions will facilitate opportunities for improving contacts in the region, the supply of essential goods and services and the undertaking of a number of crucial projects.
"Iraq Development Program 2005 will differ from the standard formula for international summits, focusing on the importance of face-to-face interaction between key business players as the world embraces the new Iraq," said Christopher Higgins, managing director of the program.
Iraq Development Program 2005 will be a multi-layered event, featuring a special 'Buyers' forum where Iraqi businessmen and businesswomen will be able to meet with global company representatives; a 300 sqm international exhibition giving companies the opportunity to showcase the goods and services essential to Iraq's development; sector-specific roundtable meetings to be held on a scheduled basis with ministerial officials and representatives from state owned enterprises; and a number of seminars providing key insight into various industry sectors.
Registration for Iraq Development Program 2005 is already open, with only a select number of places available to attend.
The Iraq Development Program is much more than just a series of summits, providing a comprehensive business solution for those companies wishing to work in Iraq. Through its various media channels, the program provides an exclusive Internet forum allowing members to detail the goods and services they are looking to procure or supply, a unique suppliers website profiling companies involved in the development process, regular business news updates and electronic marketing campaigns for those companies wishing to promote themselves within the region.
