The Batelco Datacentre is being designed to help meet a growing requirement for businesses to secure their data and ensure access to vital records via a state-of-the-art facility that offers disaster recovery services.
Batelco's world-class Datacentre - with an additional 2000 square meters of floor space - will allow business customers to host their own equipment and electronic records within a secure, environmentally controlled, fire safe facility that ensures access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
'Through our close partnership with Cable & Wireless, Batelco is able to offer a global data recovery centre that will be dedicated to providing an uninterrupted service to mission-critical data processing operations,' explains Ian Dench, General Manager - Sales and Marketing at Batelco.
'Batelco's new Datacentre will provide a vital service for our customers - particularly for those businesses which are highly dependent on the availability and security of critical data and information.'
'This initiative will see the launch of a leading edge strategic service that will enable Batelco to establish its position as a regional communications hub that provides 'one-stop-shop' solutions to attract local, regional and international businesses.'
Batelco's Datacentre is intended to enhance the current Facilities Management Centre in terms of providing customers with a full range of business hosting services including: data storage facilities, instant global reach, network diversity, round the clock access, zoned environmental control, security surveillance and disaster recovery services.
'Our investment in the Datacentre project is a clear illustration of the extent to which Batelco values its customers' businesses and strives to help customers get the most from their telecommunications services,' explains Ian.
'The BMA already strongly recommends that all financial institutions keep records in an off-site storage with disaster recovery facilities. We are ensuring that we keep abreast of our customers' needs and offer them the very best in global technology.'
Batelco's BD3.3 million investment in its Datacentre project is over and above the company's recently announced BD21 million investment in a three-to-five year 'Broadband Bahrain' programme.
'Batelco's massive investment in these projects sends a clear signal of our ongoing commitment to providing each and every one of our customers with a secure, reliable network infrastructure,' says Ian.
Batelco's Datacentre is being targeted at the financial, government, international, large business and small and medium enterprises sectors of the market. The company plans to launch its new service by the end of this year.
Batelco invests BD3 million in a new datacentre project
Batelco announced the signing of a new BD 3.3 million initiative, which will be implemented this year and will provide its customers with secure off-site data storage and recovery facilities - complete with national and international connectivity.
