'Between January and March this year the number of our Middle East visitors has more than doubled,' said Claude Attala, Director of Sales, Radisson SAS Hotel, Portman, who was speaking at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
'Middle East travellers make up 16% of our total business mix this year as compared to 7% during the same period in 2001.
'Of those, 80% originate from Kuwait as our joint promotion with the state's national carrier has started paying off.'
Earlier this year Radisson SAS Hotel, Portman and Kuwait Airways Holidays signed a marketing deal targeting first class passengers.
'Premium traffic yields to London have skyrocketed as a result,' said Khalid Al Tayer, Deputy Director Sales, Marketing & Planning, Kuwait Airways.
