Dr. Marc Faber

  • Just how high will oil prices go?

  • I maintain the view that we may see sometime in future far higher prices than anybody envisions. China’s car population has more than doubled since 2002.

  • The US economy is the next 9/11

  • There are several reasons why it is likely that the US economy will weaken far more than is expected by the bullish Wall Street crowd, whose only interest is to get as many investors to invest in the stock market and then to churn the accounts in order to earn high commissions.

  • Watch for the US pre-election rally!

  • A few weeks ago, I accidentally switched my television set over from MTV, which has a calming influence on my mood, to CNBC, which tends to irritate me.

  • Will outstanding high short positions lead to short-term rally?

  • Is this President Bush's economic boom?

  • It is with utmost interest that I watch the usually very upbeat news on CNBC. In fact, Mr. Kudlow and Mr. Cramer are extremely fitting commentators for the current economic and political environment.

  • The Fed’s monetary policy dilemma

  • US corporate insiders are selling off their shares as the equity market rebounds. Dr. Faber sees this as a sell indicator for all investors, and reflects on what Mr. Greenspan will do next.

  • The Bubbles Mr. Greenspan has created!

  • Dr. Faber continues to recommend staying out of markets, with lower bond prices and much higher interest rates on the horizon. In particular he is concerned about the US housing market. Asset inflation always comes to a bitter end.

  • Commodity prices and the very bullish case for oil

  • We could see prices of certain commodities double or even treble in a speculative mania. And there is one commodity on which a very bullish long-term fundamental case can be made: crude oil.
