UOWD wins UAE accreditation

The University of Wollongong in Dubai has thanked UAE Education Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan for granting initial accreditation for its undergraduate degrees. All UOWD degrees are fully accredited by the Australian Government.

Students mourn Sheikh Zayed

AD Women's College, new home

A new campus for the Abu Dhabi Women's College will open in Khalifa-A City within two years, reported Gulf News. The four-storey main building will have 88 classrooms and laboratories. There will be 170 teachers and administrative staff for 2,000 students.

Bahrain special needs centre

A new centre is opening for special needs children in Bahrain. The Intervention Centre for Early Childhood aims to help children with behavioural and communication difficulties, such as autism. Research in the US shows that 70 per cent of special needs children can enter mainstream schools if they are given the right training.

UAE schools extra hours
