No down payment on Hyundai coupe
Hyundai is offering a no downpayment finance package on its popular sports coupe from UAE dealer Juma Al Mijid, and one year of free comprehensive insurance. This model features 2.7-litre V6 engine, dual airbags, alloy wheels and ABS. Prices start from USD13,350 for this attractively styled sports car.

New Honda iVTEC Accord sports car
Honda has launched its all-new 2003 Honda iVTEC Accord in the UAE through Trading Enterprises, part of the Al Futtaim group. This sports car features a new 2.4 iVTEC 173 hp or a 3.0-litre V6 VTEC 270 hp engine, and excellent build quality. The design and interior layout has also won industry accolades.
Jeep Cherokee wins new fans
The new Jeep Cherokee has been extremely well received in the region, confounding critics who believed that drivers of the old Jeep 4x4 might find the all-new version too revolutionary. Dealers told AMEInfo that the number of new Jeeps on the road spoke for itself. The 3.7-litre Jeep starts from USD22,000 for the standard vehicle up to USD28,500 for the fully loaded Limited Edition.
Ford Mustang, free insurance
UAE Ford dealer Al Tayer Motors is offering one year of free insurance with the Ford Mustang sports car for a limited period only. Al Tayer promises attractive trade-in offers, a three year warranty and 60,000km or three years' free roadside assistance on this model.
Automechanika show comes to Dubai
The world's largest automotive aftermarket exhibition, Automechanika, is coming to the Middle East for the first time from May 17-20 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Organised by a subsidiary of the Messe Frankfurt, the show features auto parts and spare parts, accessories, tyres, tuning and performance systems, in-car entertainment systems, garage equipment, tooling and petrol station equipment.
Motoring carnival in Dubai
Classic cars from Ford to Mercedes will take part in a carnival of classic cars and motorbikes on Wednesday this week in Dubai. The Emirates Motor Sports Federation is organising the event which includes cars dating from the 1920s to 1970s and will tour the centre of the city for ninety minutes.
Half-price Jaguar finance package
Jaguar dealers in the UAE and HSBC have teamed up to offer a special finance deal on Jaguar cars. Pay 50 per cent in cash, or 24 monthly instalments to HSBC, and you can drive off with any Jaguar for two years.
Rover 75, special finance deal
The Rover 75 is now available with a finance package costing USD435 per month from UAE distributor Al Tayer Motors. This classic UK automobile has leather seats and wood trim, as well as a 2.5-litre V6 engine, with six-CD changer, sun roof, rear parking sensor and xenon lights as options. Three year service and warranty contracts are included.
Dubai, 922 accidents over Eid
Between UAE National Day and the Eid Al Fitr holiday the Dubai Police attended 992 accidents, one of them fatal, reported Gulf News. Most of the accidents were caused by speeding, said officials, who rescued seven people over the holiday period.
Maybach powers ahead of Rolls Royce
DaimlerChrysler's new Mayback supercar has left Rolls Royce in the shade, according to a test drive published by The Daily Telegraph. Its reviewer highlighted seats derived from the Nasa space shuttle, thick glass for quietness, a 600W Bose stereo, the most powerful production engine in the world, two brake calipers per front wheel and a hydraulically dampened Kleenex holder. This giant car also moved from 0-100 kph in 5.2 seconds and hit 280 kph before electronics shut off the speed to save its tyres.
Hyundai offers free white goods
Every Hyundai car sold in the UAE comes complete with a new TV, microwave, hi-fi, washing machine and refridgerator. Distributor Juma Al Majid offers Hyundai vehicles from the USD6,800 Accent to the USD17,000 Santa Fe 4x4. All have one year of free comprehensive insurance.
Owners prepare for UAE Fun Drive
The annual Gulf News Fun Drive around the UAE kicks off with an early start on Friday 13 December. The 220km drive takes in many scenic offroad routes and has become a big event with 350 plus 4x4s taking part. Six checkpoints will track progress and a Dubai Police helicopter will be in the air for emergencies.

Cayenne, Q1 Mid East debut
Porsche's eagerly awaited entry into the 4x4 market, the Cayenne, will arrive in the Middle East early next year, reported Gulf News. The Cayenne S has a V8 engine, while the Cayenne Turbo offers faster acceleration. Porsche officials told reporters that the Cayenne was a possession for people who felt they had achieved something in life and wanted a car to reflect this status.
