Ultimate US sports car in UAE
The Dodge Viper SRT-10, the ultimate American sports car, has arrived in the UAE. This is the boldest, fastest, most powerful vehicle in its segment and we've got the first two in the UAE, said Trading Enterprise's Craig Hardie. The Viper has a 8.3-litre, V-10, 500 bhp engine and rockets from 0-100 kph in less than four seconds.
UAE centralises motoring database
The UAE is in the testing phase of a new system that will unify traffic registrations in the emirates through a central database. This will make it easier to track reckless drivers and allow motorists to renew their licences in an emirate where they are not resident.
New Nissan Patrol Safari VS
UAE distributor Arabian Automobiles is trumpeting the specifications of the new Patrol Safari VS. This 4x4 was originally designed for use offroad in Arabia, and now comes with parking sensors, EPS, cooler box, bluetooth kit and suede upholstery for those who prefer to stay onroad.
Ford Mondeo, 50pc offer
UAE distributor Al Tayer Motors is offering a deal on the Ford Mondeo. For the first two years buyers pay either 50 per cent in cash or in 24 monthly instalments. The Mondeo has a 2-litre, 151 bhp engine, ABS, EBD, alloy wheels and front fog lights. There is also a free three year or 60,000km service contract.
Land Rover Freelander reborn
The Land Rover Freelander has been given a face lift for 2004 with new styling and headlights, as well as a new look facia. This permanent 4x4 also boasts ABS, EBD, ETC and HDC. UAE distributor Al Tayer Motors offers a three year or 100,000km warranty.
Kia, zero interest finance
Kia UAE distributor Al Majid Motors is offering zero per cent finance on three models over two years with the first instalment payable after 90 days. The Sportage 4x4 is USD12,000, Optima saloon USD10,900 and entry-level Sephia 1.6-litre USD8,700.
Cash back on 2003 GM models
UAE General Motors distributor Al Yousef is offering cash back on 2003 models. The Chevrolet Lumina Coupe costing USD22,600 has a USD1,225 cash back offer. Or choose the Caprice Royale at USD25,350 with USD800 cash back, or the Trailblazer 4x4 at USD23,160 with USD950 cash back.
Buy before New Year price rises
Anyone thinking of buying a new European car should get on with it, say motor trade insiders. Price rises in the New Year are likely to be stiff as the US dollar's fall against the euro means that new imports will cost more. This really is a case of buy now while stocks last!
Jaguar rolls out new XJ
The UAE's Al Tayer Motors and Jaguar Abu Dhabi have unveiled the new XJ with its pioneering aluminium monocoque body. Engine options are 3-litre V6 or a 4.2-litre supercharged V8. There is self-levelling air suspension, and a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and roadside assistance.
Mercedes C-Class now affordable
UAE Mercedes dealer Gargash Enterprises has introduced its Star Programme, a new way to finance ownership of the C-Class. Grand Cherokee, USD99 a week
UAE distributor Trading Enterprises is offering finance deals on the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee from USD99 per week. The latest version of this model has a 4.7-litre, V8 engine generating 260 bhp, and a five speed multirange automatic transmission with overdrive, and seven-year warranty.
Ford Crown Victoria, pay 50pc
UAE Ford distributor Al Tayer Motors is offering the 4.6-litre, 265 bhp Crown Victoria saloon for 50 per cent of the full USD18,665 price for the first two years. This well equipped car with alloy wheels and airbags also has a three year warranty and free roadside assistance.
New Volvo S60 Sport
Volvo is providing special finance for its turbo-powered new S60 Sport in the UAE. Trading Enterprises will pay the first two instalments with zero down payment and 4.25 per cent interest. There is also a three-year free service and maintenance contract and warranty.
Mini, 1.99pc finance offer
BMW distributor in the UAE, AGMC is offering 1.99 per cent finance on the Mini Cooper for a limited period, subject to bank approval. The sporty 115 bhp, six-airbag Mini Cooper with ABS, DSC, EBD, and power steering has become something of a cult classic with its retro design.
VW Golf output hit by delays
Volkwagen has admitted it will fail to meet production targets for the new edition of the popular Golf, blaming unspecified technical problems with building the car, reported Bloomberg. In total 110,000 cars will be made this year, down from the planned 135,000.
