Suzuki, 2003 model clear-out
Suzuki is clearing out its 2003 models with some attractive extras at UAE distributor Al Rostamani. There is free insurance for a year on the Liana and Ignis, three-years of free roadside assistance, free rust proofing and registration for one year. Plus buyers get free service and maintenance for 30,000km.
Cadillac CTS, Burj Al Arab offer
UAE Cadillac distributor Liberty Automobiles is offering a special offer on the CTS before the end of the month. Installments start at USD715 a month after six months, downpayment is 15 per cent, free service and maintenance for three years or 60,000km, three year warranty and 4.49 per cent interest. Plus one night free in the Burj Al Arab.
Toyota, genuine parts campaign
UAE Toyota distributor Al Futtaim has launched an advertising campaign highlighting the danger of counterfeit parts. It says that turning a blind eye towards such parts means sleeping over your family's safety. This message is warmly endorsed by other leading car manufacturers.
Ford, pay 50pc and drive
Ford UAE distributor Al Tayer Motors is offering a pay 50 per cent and drive away any Ford model for two years. Payment can be in cash or in 24 instalments subject to approval by Rakbank. There is also a three year, 60,000km warranty and three years of free roadside assistance.
VW Beetle Cabriolet launch
The stylish Volkswagen Beetle is now available with a fully retractable roof. This Cabriolet edition was launched by Ali and Sons in Abu Dhabi and drew much interest from VW fans. The VW Beetle has a long heritage dating from pre-war Germany as the car of the people.
Aston Martin, new dealerships
British sports car legend Aston Martin is set to announce dealerships in Syria, Jordan and Egypt within the next six months, reported Gulf News. By mid-2004 Aston Martin will launch the all-new DB9. General Manager Thomas Kastgen said after-sales service was the key to getting the regional market right.

The new Maserati Quattroporte made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. This classic mixture of sportiness with limousine dimensions can be personalised to the last detail. Top speed is 275 kph from a 4.2-litre V8 engine. UAE distributor is Al Tayer Motors.
Dubai changes accident rules
From September 17-25 Dubai is suspending its rule that motorists must stay by their car and wait if involved in an accident. Instead the parties should go straight to the nearest Police Station to report the accident. Motorists who fail to do so will be fined Dhs100 and have their cars impounded for a week.
Cash back on Chevrolets
All the 2003 Chevrolet models now come with a cash back offer from UAE distributors. For example, the USD33,500 Suburban returns USD950 in cash back, and the USD22,000 Lumina Coupe USD1,225. Finance deals involve no down payment and first payment after 90 days subject to conditions.
New Mitsubishi Lancer 2004

Mercedes, 0-100 kph 3.8 seconds
Porsches are rather slow compared to the new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It rockets from 0-100 kph is just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of over 330 kph, one of the highest top speeds of a production vehicle. A V8 supercharged engine delivers 626 bhp to a car derived from the Mercedes-McLaren Formula 1 racing cars.
New entry level Chevvys
Al Yousuf Motors has announced the arrival of two new smaller 2004 Chevrolet models, the Aveo and Epica, to its showrooms in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. With the introduction of these new models, Al Yousuf Motors expects to double its volume of Chevrolet Vehicle sales. The 1.5-litre Aveo offers European design and a roomy interior at an entry level price, while the Epica 4-door mid-size sedan will offers some luxury for a modest price.
Road closure for IMF meeting
The Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed from the World Trade Centre roundabout towards Dubai from 6am to 8pm on September 23 and 24 due to the IMF annual meeting in the city. Drivers are also advised that parking in the Dubai International Airport will be restricted between September 10-25.
New BMW 5 Series launch
BMW has launched its new 5 Series in the Middle East, the fifth generation of this executive motoring stalwart. The 530i model is available immediately priced from USD57,000. Dealers said the car is designed with the space and safety of families in mind, and also to appeal to young executives who want style and performance.
