Volvo S60R for playboys
The new Volvo S60R offers three performance settings, family man, ladies' man and daredevil. This 2.5-litre, turbo-charged, 300 bph luxury car will be on display at the Dubai motorshow from today. Performance of 0-100kph in 5.7 seconds is well beyond normal solid Swedish acceleration.
Cadillac Sixteen, 1,000 bhp

Mercedes C-Class, HSBC finance

BMW new launches lined up
BMW Middle East is lining up a series of launches in the New Year. First will be the new 6 Series range, and then the new X3 4x4 and a new edition of the X5. Managing Director Robert Bailey-McEwan said the strength of the euro is still a particular cause for concern and was hitting sales.
Mercedes supercar to steal show
The USD450,000 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren supercar will be the star of the Dubai motor show this week. A 626 bph engine powers the SLR from 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds and delivers a top speed of 334kph. DaimlerChrysler has pre-sold 150 cars in the Mideast. There is a three year waiting list. Only 3,500 cars will be made over seven years.
New Durango, Dubai debut
The next generation of Dodge Durango 4x4 will be on display at this week's Dubai motor show, though it will not appear in showrooms until 2004. The vehicle is longer, taller and wider than its predecessor, and has a new 5.7-litre engine delivering 40 per cent more power.
Kia, luxury Opirus model

Jaguar XJ, new touch screen

Audi, pay 50pc deal
UAE Audi distributor Al Nabooda Automobiles is offering the option of paying 50 per cent for a new car for two years. After then you either trade-in the car, pay the balance, or refinance the outstanding loan. The 50 per cent payment can also be financed in 12 or 24 instalments with no down payment at 4.1 per cent.
Honda Jazz 2004 launch
Honda has launched its Jazz 2004, a trendy entry-level car designed for the under 30s, priced from USD11,700. The car has a 1.3-litre, variable valve timing engine and excellent fuel consumption. It is also quiet and designed for maximum interior space and luggage capacity.
Lexus, adaptive headlights
The new Lexus LS 430 saloon features an intelligent adaptive front-lighting system which computes the vehicle speed and steering angle to automatically rotate lights into a bend. This advanced safety system also claims to reduce the stress of driving.
Lincoln, pay just 50pc offer
Al Tayer Motors is offering a two-year deal on the USD27,250 Lincoln LS and USD35,500 Lincoln Town Car with payment of 40 per cent in cash or 24 monthly instalments financed by RakBank. These high specification luxury US cars have a four-year warranty and three years of roadside assistance.
Jags line up for Motor Show
Jaguar will exhibit its latest 2004 model line-up under the theme performance at the Dubai Motor Show from December 11-15: the Formula F1 motor sport vehicle, the all-new Jaguar X-Type Estate, the X-Type 2.5-litre, the supercharged S-Type R, the classic XJR, the XK8 convertible sports car, and the all-new flagship XJ model - the seventh generation of this model and the most technologically advanced Jaguar ever built.
Porsche upbeat on 2004
Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking said that group sales were up 47 per cent in the first four months of its fiscal year thanks to the runaway success of the Cayenne 4x4, now a common sight on the roads of the Middle East. More than 30,000 Cayennes will be sold this year, he added.
Land Rover Discovery offer
The UAE's Al Tayer Motors is offering a special festive package with the new Land Rover Discovery 2004. The deal includes free registration, one year of free insurance, three-year or 60,000km service contract, and a three-year or 100,000km manufacturer's warranty.
