Bentley to open in Jeddah

Bentley Motors plans to open a big showroom in Jeddah and has just opened in Qatar, reported Gulf News. Regional Director Ian Gorsuch said Kuwait will also have a showroom in 12 to 18 months and there should be one in Oman soon. Bentleys sell for USD190,000 to USD245,000.

Skoda, UAE sales up 30pc

UAE Skoda distributor Autostar Trading has reported a 30 per cent rise in sales this year, and is set to open a new multi-million dollar showroom in Sharjah. All new Skodas bought before the end of November come with free servicing for three years or 60,000km.

New Lexus boasts GPS, Bluetooth

The new LS430 and LX470 Lexus saloons feature the latest in navigational systems, the Global Positioning System, Bluetooth technology and a rear-view TV camera. GPS is a satellite based positioning system, originally developed by the US military, and means that you always know where you are and can not get lost.

UAE Suzuki dealer Al Rostamani is offering Awwal Savings Certificates and raffle coupons on five models during Ramadan. There is also one year of free insurance on the 2003 Liana and a 100,000km or three-year extended warranty on all models. Showrooms open from 8am to 2pm and 8pm to 10.30pm for the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Nissan to recall 2.56m cars

Nissan is to recall 2.56m cars from across the globe to correct an engine defect. It includes some 25 models made beween April 1998 and May 2003, including Subaru Leon and Mazda Familia, mad by Nissan for Subaru and Mazda. The defect can possibly halt the engine while driving. No accidents have yet been reported.

Tasjeel opens facility in Jafz

NBAD offers Beetle Cabriolet

Jaguar claims 20pc sales rise

Jaguar claimed a 20 per cent sales rise in 11 Mideast markets in the first nine months. It said Jordan saw the fastest increase. The biggest markets in number of cars sold were Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. It did not give unit figures. The UK brand sold a record 15,613 cars worldwide in September.

New Ferrari showroom in Bahrain

Bahrain's Euro Motors has signed a contract with Key Construction for a new Ferrari and Maserati showroom in Sitra. It will be an extension of the existing Euro Motors showroom. The design was by Mazen Al Umran Consulting. Work has begun and is due for completion in the first quarter of 2004.

Trading Enterprses is offering a new 7-year/110,000kms powertrain warranty on Chrysler and Dodge vehicles. During Ramadan, the dealer is offering special instalment rates on purchase of Chrysler and Dodge cars starting from about USD72 a week to USD127 a week on six models.

Islamic car finance from HSBC

HSBC is offering Sharia-compliant vehicle finance through its subidiary Middle East Finance. Mefco has teamed up with HSBC Amanah to offer Amanah Vehicle Finance based on murabaha concept. The product has been approved by HSBC Sharia Supervisory Committee which includes three eminent Islamic scholars.

New Toyota showroom in Abu Dhabi

Al Futaim Motors, distributor of Toyota and Lexus cars in the UAE, has opened a new showroom in the capital Abu Dhabi. The bigger showroom is on Airport Road and offers better facilities and enhanced services. During Ramadan, the facility will open from 9am-2pm and 8.30pm-1.30pm.
