AD Motor Show, new Lincoln 4x4

Visitors to the Premier Motors Ford, Lincoln and Mercury stand at the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show between September 28 and October 2 will see the newest luxury 4x4, the Lincoln Navigator. The new premium full-sized 4x4 will make its debut in Abu Dhabi on the show's opening day.

Cayenne doubles Porsche sales

Porsche has more than doubled regional sales from 942 to 2,392 vehicles in the financial year to end of July thanks mainly to the sale of 1,972 Cayenne 4x4s launched in the Spring last year. The UAE was the top Porsche regional market with 1,014 vehicles sold with Saudi Arabia improving at 394.

New MR-V Honda 4x4

Honda has rolled out its new MR-V full-size 4x4 with eight seats and great performance on and off road, available in the UAE from Trading Enterprises. A 3.5-litre, VTEC V6, 24-valve engine delivers 240 bhp with variable torque management, ABS, dual airbags, CD and climate control as standard. There is a three-year unlimited warranty.

Chrysler 300C, five-star safety

The Chrysler 300C, which is set to enter the UAE market in November, has received a five-star rating for protection in a frontal crash, the highest rating in the US safety crash test programme. This rating means there is a 10 per cent or less chance of serious injury in a severe, 55 kph crash.

New Porsche Boxster Nov 27

Porsche has announced the launch date of the new Boxster and Boxster S, set for November 27. The new Boxster, with a 2.7 litre six-cylinder engine will now have 240 bhp, an increase of 12 bhp from the previous model. The new Boxster S will be launched simultaneously. The Boxster needs only 6.2 seconds to spurt from 0 to 100 kph, while the Boxster S does this in 5.5 seconds.

Honda Civic LXi Special Edition

Bentley Arnage, Mideast debut

The USD272,000 Bentley Arnage will be delivered to Middle East customers in the next few weeks. Only around 2,000 cars will be sold worldwide. Bentley is owned by Volkswagen and has a production run of 20 cars a month in Crewe but will only be building to order.

Dubai's new digital road signs

Dubai is to have digital road signs giving motorists up-to-the-minute information on potential hazards ahead, reported Gulf News. This will be a first for the Middle East though the signs are familiar enough to UK and European drivers. The USD20m project should be completed by early next year and aims to reduce accident levels by 15 per cent, said officials.
