UAE distributor Al Yousuf Motors now has the Chevrolet Lumina SS at Dhs85,000 excluding back spoiler. But the agency warns that stocks are limited and that it has already sold out of stocks of the basic Lumina Coupe which was on offer at Dhs59,900.
IFS, HSBC tie-up ambitions
The International Fleet Services network has extended its geographic reach to the Middle East with the appointment of HSBC Middle East Finance Company Limited as its first representative company for the region, based in Dubai. IFS will foster the sharing of best practice between vehicle leasing companies. MEFCO has led the local market by launching the first independent full maintenance lease for cars.
All-new 2005 Honda City
UAE distributor Trading Enterprises has started marketing the all-new 2005 Honda City, a compact four-door saloon with 1.3-litre i-DSI engine, power steering, airbags, central locking, power windows and mirrors, ABS, folding rear seat, plus a three year unlimited warranty.
Hyundai, free car for five months
Hyundai is offering a five-month payments holiday on all vehicles in the UAE with the first two installments paid by local agents Juma Al Majid. There is no down payment and installments are paid over five years. The executive saloon Sonata starts from Dhs825 per month.

Emirates Airlines has taken delivery of 10 Audi A6 Avant executive saloons for its pilot chauffeur service in advance of the new car's autumn debut in the region. The latest generation of Audi A6 will be officially launched in the Middle East in October this year.
Dubai, fast-track traffic court
Dubai Police officials have proposed a new fast-track court for traffic offenders to clean-up bad driving in the city, reported Gulf News. The court would dispense fines and prison sentences of up to three months, and is now awaiting approval from the judicial authorities.
6,538 fined for seatbelt offences
The Dubai Police fined 6,538 people for not wearing a seatbelt last month. Studies show that wearing a seatbelt will definitely reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of a car accident. It is illegal to drive in Dubai without wearing a seatbelt and the fine is Dhs100.
Pay parking via SMS in Dubai
Motorists in Dubai will be able to pay for parking tickets through SMS from next year, and top-up parking meters from their mobile phones. Officials said motorists would first have to register as a virtual member of the Dubai Municipality website.
Jeep, low monthly installments
UAE agents Trading Enterprises is now offering the 2004 Jeep range with low monthly installment options. The Jeep Wrangler is Dhs1,227 per month, the Cherokee from Dhs1,472 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee from Dhs1,999, including a free three year or 60,000km service and maintenance contract.
Fiat Punto, great deals
UAE distributor Al Ghandi Auto is offering great summer deals on the subcompact Fiat Punto. This fiesty Italian motor now has 25,000km or one-year of free service, a two-year unlimited warranty, a buy back guarantee, free rust proofing and free registration.
Aston Martin unveils DBR9
Aston Martin Racing has revealed the latest details of its all-new DBR9 that will spearhead the marque's return to international motor-racing in 2005. Aston Martin will also make a very limited number of DBR9 racing cars available to selected customers in the region.
Dubai drivers told to belt-up!
Around half of drivers in Dubai do not wear seat-belts, according to the Dubai Police whose three-day campaign last week resulted in 814 fines. Motorists not wearing a belt face a Dhs100 fine and serious injury in the event of an accident. The UAE has one of the highest number of fatal accidents in the world.
Volvo XC90, finance deal
UAE distributor Trading Enterprises is offering low-cost finance on the Volvo XC90 4x4. With a 10 per cent down payment and the balance over four years, the monthly cost is Dhs2,455. The 2.5T, 210 bhp, five speed geartronic XC90 has won awards for its safety innovations.
