The Ford F-150 pickup and the Toyota Prius hybrid sedan have been chosen as 2003 North American truck and car of the year. In November Ford raised its sales outlook due to strong sales of the F-150, while Toyota sales have also boomed thanks to the larger and more fuel efficient Prius.
Jordanian car dealers say around 800,000 second hand vehicles have been exported to Iraq since the war in March, reported AFP. Last month alone between 250,000 and 400,000 cars entered the country, according to customs officials. The buying frenzy reflects the absence of import duties at present.

Dubai's famous Sheikh Zayed Road has been widened from from four to five lanes between junctions three and four, reported Gulf News. Officials said more sections of the busy highway will be widened to cope with the mounting traffic flow.
