The Advantage Certified showroom in Sehla will sell used cars which are less than four years old and have less than 80,000km on the clock. All cars will carry a 64-point mechanical check and certification.
Gargash Enterprises, UAE Mercedes-Benz agents, unveiled the new S-Class to prospective customers at a gala dinner last night. Dubbed the world's most advanced car, the new model has impressive safety features and a unique night view system. UAE Renault distributor Arabian Automobiles is now selling the Renault Megane, which comes via the 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre models. The Megane has Tiptronic transmission, ergonomically designed instrument panel, ABS brakes with EBD and EBA, and six airbags. It comes with free 20,000 km or two year service and a three year or 60,000 km warranty.

Ford is selling its worldwide rental company Hertz for $5.6bn to a private equity group comprising Clayton Dubilier & Rice, Carlyle Group and Merrill Lynch. The transaction also includes around $10bn in debt, and relieves pressure on Ford's finances.
The Frankfurt Motor Show opened yesterday with many guests from the booming Middle East car trade in attendance. This year the organisers expect 1m visitors. There are almost 1,000 exhibitors for 44 countries, despite the well publicised problems of European automakers.

Dubai's Al Habtoor Motors is confident of selling more than 20,000 vehicles this year, compared with 7,800 three years ago. Officials said Mitsubishi had increased its share of the Japanese segment from 11 to 21%. Al Habtoor has just opened a new 520,000 sqft parts and service centre at Dubai Investment Park.
