BMW Z4 Coupe leads BMW line-up
Later in 2006 the BMW Z4 Coupe will be available in the region. This exciting new sports car is a star of the BMW stand at the Duabi motor show this week. The Z4 will shift from 0-100 kph in five seconds and is a beautifully styled two-seater.
Six Infiniti models for 2006
Infiniti is set to introduce six new models in 2006, headed by the Q premium luxury sedan, alongside the QX full-size luxury SUV, G sports sedan, G sports coupe, FX premium crossover SUV and the award winning Infiniti M luxury sedan. The Infiniti M has push start button, adaptive front headlight System, intelligent key, rear view camera, tire pressure monitor and climate control seats.
Dubai auto show tomorrow
The doors of the 8th Middle East International Motor Show will open tomorrow at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. Organisers expect more than 85,000 visitors. There are more than 500 vehicles on display with all the major manufacturers participating.
Toyota's all-new Rav 4
The full range of Toyota vehicles will be on display on the Al-Futtaim Motors stand at the motor show in Dubai this week, together with the Toyota Compact Sport and Speciality concept car, and the all-new Rav 4. There will also be the flagship Avalon, the 8-seater Innova, the Hilux and the Hiace range, plus the youthful Yaris hatchback and stylish Fortuner SUV.
Cash back offers on Chrysler
UAE Chrysler and Dodge dealer Trading Enterprises is offering cash back deals on many popular models. There is Dhs8,100 back on the 5.7-litre Dodge Durango 4x4, Dhs7,100 on the 3.2-litre, V8 Chrysler Crossfire and even Dhs1,000 off the entry level Chrysler Neon.
Chevy deals in AD
Abu Dhabi Chevrolet dealer Bin Hamoodah has launched a special low-payments scheme for the 2006 Lumina and Caprice models. Monthly payments start from Dhs1,110 on the Lumina with zero down payment, and free service for one year or 20,000km.
Fastest Maybach 57 S rolls-out
The new $498,000 Maybach 57 S will be launched at the Dubai motor show this week, featuring an awesome 612 bhp, V12 bi-turbo engine that moves this large car from 0-100 kph in under five seconds. This is a driver's car with a shorter wheelbase than the chauffer-driven Maybachs but has the same power, quality, luxury and exclusivity.
Mercedes new R-Class
Mercedes-Benz is revealing its new R-Class at the 8th Middle East International Motor Show this week. The R-Class combines the features of a sporty saloon, estate, MPV and SUV, with six seats in three rows. The $63,100 R 350 has a new 272 bhp, V6 engine for 0-100 kph in 8.4 seconds, while the R 500 has a V8 and a 245 kph top speed.
DaimlerChrysler sales up 14%
DaimlerChrysler Middle East sales are 14% up on a year ago with 28,061 vehicles sold in the 11 months to November, President & CEO Nicholas Speeks told a pre-Dubai motor show press conference today. Mercedes-Benz sold 13,525 cars in the period, up from 12,335 in 2004, with S-Class sales up from 3,000 to 4,015. Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge sales were level pegging with the 2004 total of 7,083.
Porsche unveils Cayman S
The new mid-engined Cayman S will be the star of the Porsche line-up at the Middle East International Motor Show in Dubai next week (see Executive Test Drive). Also on show will be the three versions of the top-selling Cayenne, Boxster, 911 Carrera S Coupe, Carrera 4S Cabriolet and the Carrera GT.
BMW supports safe driving
BMW Group Middle East MD Gunther Seeman says car manufacturers have a corporate social responsibility to encourage safe driving, reported Gulf News. He said BMW has a specialist training programme at the Bahrain International Circuit and plans to start a similar one in Dubai, aimed at helping drivers improve their habits.
BMW, Dubai Motor Show line-up
BMW is spending 50% more on its stand at this year's Middle East International Motor Show to be held in Dubai next week. MD Guenther Seemann told AME Info this was a very important event for BMW. BMW will showcase 12 cars and four Minis on its stand, including the new 7-Series with night vision and 650i convertible.
Jaguar XK on show
Jaguar will be displaying its XK coupe sports car, which it says is the most technically and technologically advanced Jaguar ever built, at the Dubai motor show. The XK will carry the latest generation 4.2-litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine developing 300bhp. It will be available in the Middle East as a coupe or convertible in March 2006.
Traffic congestion plan
Dubai Municipality is planning an intelligent transport system that will give early warning to motorists on traffic congestion, which is worsening with the number of cars growing by 10% a year, reported Gulf News. Dubai is growing so fast that infrastructure, including the roads, cannot keep up, according to assistant director Hussain Nasser Lootah.
Motor Show, more cars
The 8th Middle East International Motor Show 2005 will have more than 200 exhibitors, up 32% on last year, according to organisers. The event will showcase over 30 launches and introduce new brands including Bufori, Pagani-Zonda, Funke & Will and Mansory. It runs from 12-16 December.
