New Range Rover by Q2
Range Rover enthusiasts will only have to wait until Q2 this year for the arrival of the 2006 model. MD Andy Gawthorpe said the all-new LR3 and Range Rover Sport would arrive shortly in the region with subtle enhancements to design and technical improvements to make the best 4x4 in the world look even better.
Tolls denounced by motorists
Dubai motorists have sharply criticised plans for a toll system to help curb traffic congestion, reported Gulf News. Many said that this would make the cost of living in the UAE too high, and argued that they could not afford to move their families closer to their work.
Dubai, road tolls from 2006
Motorists entering Dubai from Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will have to pay a toll from early next year, reported Gulf News. Sources said construction of a toll gateway system will start this April with an electronic gate for electronic pre-payments.
UAE desert driving training
A course in desert driving on January 7 is being jointly promoted by the Gulf News and Al Futtaim Training Centre. The course will cover the handling of 4x4s on and offroad as well as practical training in the desert. For more details email: training@alfuttaim.ae
