Range Rover SC
It was with special anticipation that I approached my test of the Range Rover SC, the most powerful Range Rover ever built. However, as we were driving alone, the drive was confined to the tarmac and just a little bit of off-roading (keeping the highway in view) out towards Hatta, close to Oman's border with the UAE.
Chrysler 300C SRT8
If you want the performance of a Ferrari for this price then something has to give. On the Chrysler 300C SRT8 the negatives are poor clearance on the front-spoiler, a 20-inch tire that fills up the boot, a fire-extinguisher under the feet of the passenger and tacky plastic trimmings. But this is still an under-priced icon.
Lexus ES 350
Lexus has gone from pret-a-porter to haute couture with its new generation of vehicles. Prime example of this is the new ES design language. The flab that spilled over all over the old model has been toned into athletic muscle transforming the ES from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan.
Guts and grace
Charging its way into the Middle East, BMW's 335i Coupe is powered by the world's first straight-six engine matched with twin turbochargers. The 335i also gets a makeover: with a sleek new body that differentiates it from its predecessors.
Mercedes-Benz GL
With the GL, Mercedes continues its pursuit for presence in newer segments, and expand its alphabetically rich product lineup. The GL is an American style luxury SUV, and contrary to rumors floating around, is not intended to replace the legendary G Class.
Porsche 911 Turbo, rocket ship on wheels
Porsche is about to unleash the sixth generation of its flagship 911 Turbo in the Middle East. It arrives just as production of the mighty Carrera GT super car ends. Different cars for sure, and a coincidence maybe, but the power and speed in this beast will more than compensate for the sadness at the GT's passing.

The new S-class represents a significant advance in automotive wizardry. Being the first S-class of the new millennium, the new model has to uphold Mercedes-Benz honor and reputation.
Hummer Lite
The H3 first made its presence felt to the Middle East media in June last year when GM held its premium brand event in Bahrain and dropped the shocker that the baby Hummer would cost starting from a very attractive price of AED 115,000 going on to AED 140,000.
Body Builder: All-New Nissan Pathfinder

Range Rover 2006
I might have been spoilt driving the Supercharged version, but it was hard to believe this was the Range Rover Vogue and not the Sport. The supercharged Jaguar 4.2-litre V8 engine makes this the most powerful Range Rover ever built, offering 40% more power and over 25% more Torque than the previous model.
BMW X3: Baby Bloomer
The X3 is the least good looking of all current BMWs. This SAV - yes, this is just another way of BMW making their off-road products stand away from the crowd. SAV stands for Sports Activity Vehicle and the X3 is slightly bigger than a Freelander, similar in size to a Jeep Cherokee except in height and is more expensive than both. After all, it is a premium product as BMW only makes vehicles of this genre.

It's not everyday that a new Corvette rolls out, but when it does everybody takes notice. With the C6 it does seem that General Motors is following in Porsche's footsteps which by careful evolution of the 911 has had the money coming in.
