Baby food products in the UAE have been declared safe following an incident in Sharjah in which a baby fell sick after consuming milk powder, according to Gulf News. Ministry officials assured the public that baby products were safe and met the high standards of the UAE.

The Abu Dhabi Executive Council has approved plans for a new USD82m hospital for women and children, reported Gulf News. The 320-bed hospital will be completed in two years and features a central glass atrium and helipad for emergency transfers.

The American Hospital Dubai is investing in a new Regional Heart Centre, capable of treating all types of cardiac conditions and performing advanced interventional and surgical procedures, to US standards. The hospital has invested in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory; a six-bed coronary care unit operated by western trained cardiac nursing staff; and a newly renovated operating room dedicated to cardiac surgery.
