The Bahrain Ministry of Health has signed an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme to increase the amount of data and improve treatment and control of hereditary blood diseases, HIV/AIDS and sexually-transmitted diseases and non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart ailment, reported The Bahrain Tribune.
The Dubai Municipality is expanding its ban on smoking to offices and will fine companies that allow smoking, reported Gulf News. However, companies will be allowed to permit smoking in certain designated areas. Passive smoking represents a health hazard in the work place, and non-smokers will welcome this news.

The clinic is to name a new cardiovascular treatment centre in honour of Sheikh Zayed next year.
