Etisalat wins Saudi mobile

A consortium led by UAE state telco Etisalat has won the new Saudi mobile license, with the highest bid of US$3.457 billion. The deal includes GSM and 3G licenses. Etisalat's Senior Executive Vice President, Obaid bin Mes'har, says the focus will be on the 65% of the Saudi market still without a mobile service.
