2004 Forecast: McAfee
Network Associates' anti-virus company McAfee has reported year on year revenue growth of over 26% for the financial year 2003. The company expects this growth will continue in 2004, with a new joint marketing campaign with Middle East distributors Aptec. Patrick Hayati, Regional Director for Network Associates, anticipates that hacking with malicious intent will represent a bigger threat in 2004 than viruses.

Epson hopes its recent IPO will enable it to offer expanded product lines in markets outside Japan. Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager for Epson Middle East, anticipates the biggest demand for multimedia, multi-function devices such as printer-scanner-copiers, as well as digital cameras.

2004 Forecast: Eastern Networks
Eastern Networks has identified two major trends for 2004: firstly high availability and business continuity. Secondly, a trend towards voice over IP and VPNs. Marketing Manager Zakia Demaghelatrous says the company is also hoping to have a presence in Iraq, and is already working with a local partner there.
