Dubai is to set up the largest solar park in the region with the aim of producing 1000 megawatts of electricity from the rays of the sun. The Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Solar Park will be the focus of a new solar energy programme launched in Dubai. In this report Phil Blizzard talks to H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman, Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai. The Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 aims to produce 5% of Dubai's energy requirement from solar power by 2030.
