Kuwait should have its first private Arabic TV channel as early as October 15. Executive Director Osama Al Shaikh told the Kuwait News Agency that the station will be a balanced, neutral forum for all points of view and focus on key national issues.
The first Middle East Publishing Conference will be held in Dubai from January 17-18. The event is being organised by the Dubai Consultancy, Research and Media Centre on behalf of the International Media Production Zone and Dubai Media Incorporated, publisher of Al Bayan.

The BBC is the first international broadcaster to win permission for a billboard in Baghdad. The 14x4 metre billboard, promoting BBC Arabic radio and online, has been erected on top of a large office building in the commercial Al Mansour district. This campaign reinforces the importance Iraqi people place on impartial and objective news from the BBC, said officials.
