Filming of the Ramadan TV series Omarat Al Asrar was completed in Bahrain at the weekend. This soap-opera is about three families living in a block of flats in Saudi Arabia. Around 30 half-hour episodes will be screened during Ramadan later this year, according to local media reports.

The Iraq coalition has awarded a USD5.8m advertising campaign to convince Iraqis of the need for democracy. The contract was won by a consortium of London-based Bell Pottinger, Dubai's Bates PanGulf of the WPP Group and Baghdad-based services firm Balloch and Roe.
