Emirates Neon, Dubai taxi deal

Emirates Neon has signed a three-year deal with the Dubai Transport Corporation for exclusive rights to advertising space on 1,000 taxis. Executive Director Rehan Merchant said the agreement underlined Emirates Neon's status in the industry.

Sony Ericsson online award

Sony Ericsson was voted the highest recalled brand online in the Arab world in 2004, at a marketing awards ceremony held by NetAdvantage in Dubai. The corporation has won the e-Marketing Brand of the Year award after running 14 major campaigns for over 20 different products over 40 online portals covering the Middle East and Africa.

BBC claims news leadership

BBC World has the biggest daily and weekly reach of any international news channel among Middle East business executives, according to a PAX survey conducted by Synovate across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The BBC's 24-hour news was watched by 5.8 per cent of executives daily and 10.2 per cent weekly.

Saudi journalists ejected

Saudi journalists have been ejected from a national youth forum being held in Riyadh. Journalists say that the action contradicts principles of openness and transparency and prevents public education about the issues discussed. Delegates will debate education, citizenship, culture and employment issues over the three-day forum.

Kanoo stars in reality TV show

Bahrain, indecent ads torn down

Officials are to tear down street advertising in parts of Bahrain, which features scantily-clad women or indecent images, reported local media. The crackdown is by the Southern Municipal Council. Offenders will face prosecution, said officials.
