Dubai to build first Prophet museum
- Dubai has announced plans to build the world's first museum dedicated to the life of the Prophet Mohammed. Dubai's ruler, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has called for the construction of The Prophet Mohammed museum to examine the legacy and message of the Prophet. The museum will also inform visitors on the history and practices of Islam, including the Haj.

Etihad signs Ferrari F1 sponsorship deal
- Etihad Airways has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Ferrari F1 team, the current Formula One world championship holders. The Abu Dhabi-based airline's name will feature prominently on the rear wing and side of the world's most famous red cars throughout the 18-race 2008 Formula One season. The Ferrari F1 team sponsorship deal follows a separate three-year deal signed by Etihad Airways in December 2007 to become the title sponsor of the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, starting with the inaugural event in 2009. The deal will see the F1 race in the UAE's capital city named the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix until 2011.

Dubai media zone ready for occupation
- Dubai's International Media Production Zone has announced that the three remaining phases of the pre-built units are ready for occupation at the dedicated zone for graphic arts, printing, publishing and packaging industries, reported Gulf News. With a total of 106 units, the PBU buildings will feature world-class showrooms and multi-use warehouses. Constructed mainly for media production companies seeking to begin operations with minimum delay, the phases have a built-up area of 1.4 million square feet.

FNC condemns Danish cartoons
- The UAE's Federal National Council has condemned the republishing of cartoons depicting Prophet Mohammad by some Danish newspapers, reported WAM. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the FNC expressed its 'deep regret and disappointment' over the republishing of the cartoons and called on the Danish government and parliament not to allow a few to negatively affect the relations between Denmark and the UAE and other Arab and Islamic countries.

Bahrain urged to scrap jail sentences for Journos
- Bahrain is being urged to to provide more protection for journalists by eliminating the jail sentences in its press law, reported Khaleej Times. Press watchdog Reporters Without Borders has issued calls for the authorities to implement legislative reforms they have been promising for years. It also called upon them to fulfil their promises to allow more press freedom.

- Teshkeel Media Group has signed Paris Arabesques as its new licensing representative in France, Belgium and Switzerland, for THE 99.
