  • The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission has signed an agreement with China to aid the country in enriching and mining uranium, agencies have reported. AFP has said that the country has 1.2 billion tonnes of phosphate reserves, which are estimated to contain 130,000 tonnes of uranium.

  • The three-day conference looking at prospects for nuclear energy in the Gulf has received support from UAE-based Union National Bank. The conference was conducted by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies & Research in Abu Dhabi. The ECSSR conference is seeing the role of nuclear energy in the context of energy security and climate change.
