Nakheel, interiors for The Palm

Nakheel has opened its new exhibition centre in Dubai at the sales centre by The Palm in Jumeirah. The first exhibition displays interiors relating to the fixtures and fittings for the villas on The Palm, Jumeirah and includes concept, creation, furnishings and fittings for the Signature Villas, Garden Villas and Canal Cove Town Houses.

Estate agents report a boom in business activity in Dubai this month, and say they can hardly cope with telephone inquiries. Meanwhile, the latest phase of Gazelle villas at the Arabian Ranches sold out in less than four hours. Agents said the market was hotter than ever.

Saba awards Towers 2 and 3

The Saba Group has awarded the piling and foundation contract for its 36-storey twin-tower residential project in Jumeirah Lake Towers to the Abu Dhabi based Dutch Foundation Company. The twin-towers offer a combination of freehold residential and office units.

Marina Quays now on sale

The Marina Quays, a three-tower complex cantilevered over the waters of the Dubai Marina go on sale from today. Emaar's Marina Quays are connected by a common podium structure, and comprise one-two-three bedroomed apartments and villas offering panoramic views of the waterfront.

Bahrain, 56 flats on Amwaj Island

Bahrain Amwaj Island's tallest project, Amwaj Plaza 1, is to be launched at the International Property Exhibition at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel from Thursday to Saturday. Locals and expatriates will be able to buy the 56 apartments in the 10-storey building. Al Shamil Bank has agreed to provide mortgage facilities. Completion is expected within the next 18 months.

RAK to launch Al Hamra phase two

The second phase of the Al Hamra Village project in Ras Al Khaimah will be released within weeks. This phase comprises 200 villas, 180 apartments and 50 duplexes. Agents are Better Homes. Officials told Gulf News there would be a premium on the price charged for phase one which is 75 per cent sold.

MAF wins USD805m Oman Wave

Dubai based Majid Al Futtaim Investments has won the development and management of the USD805m Wave mixed hotel and residential development in Oman, reported Gulf News. Oman Tourism Development Company is set to sign a contract for the USD90m phase one in Muscat today.

Emirates Home Show, Sept 16-18

DLR trains out to tender

The train engines for the USD1bn Dubai Light Rail project will be selected soon, reported Gulf News. Ground work is expected to begin within six months on this complex project, said officials. The fully automated, driverless trains will pass by every 90 seconds.

JBR 90pc sold-out

The Jumeirah Beach Residence is now 90 per cent sold-out and developer Dubai Government arm Estithmaar is studying other projects, officials told Gulf News. The whole project will be completed late next year, and officials expect to sell the remaining apartments over the next few weeks.

Last phase of Gazelle launched

Emaar Properties is to launch the third and final phase of its Gazelle luxury town home community at Arabian Ranches. This final phase will bring Spanish-style townhouses and the first two phases were sold out before the end of the day they were launched. Construction for the new phase is underway and the homes are expected to be ready for occupation by early 2006.

Ali Moosa wins Zen Gardens job

Dubai contractor Ali Moosa and Sons will build the 17 buildings of the Zen Gardens residency, part of Nakheel's Discovery Gardens development. The Zen Gardens will provide 529 studio and 692 one bedroom apartments and other facilities between Jebel Ali and the Dubai Internet City.

Reef Real Estate Investment Company has launched its 34-storey residential Madina Tower in the Jumeirah Lakes opposite the Dubai Marina. The tower will comprise one to three bedroom apartments, a health club and theatre room for presentations and film viewings. Sherwoods are agents.
