Mazad, Business Bay auctions

Mazad, the auction house of Dubai Properties, will auction off eight plots from five areas in the Business Bay development on 11 December at the Burj Al Arab. Plots come with a pre-approval for mixed-use buildings of unlimited height, according to DP CEO Hashim Al Dabal. Properties are being offered to nominated investors.

Emaar markets 8 Boulevard Walk

Emaar Properties is now selling apartments at 8 Boulevard Walk, its latest residential tower at the Burj Dubai development. The 35-storey tower has studio, one and two bedroom apartments ranging from 465 sqft to 1,408 sqft. Plans and a model apartment can be viewed at the Downtown Living Presentation Centre at Burj Dubai.

Home Owner 80% full

More than 80% of floor space has been booked for residential exhibition, Home Owner Dubai, being held from 26-28 January 2006, according to organisers Motivate Events. The event will also include seminars presented by property experts on a range of topics relevant to purchasing properties.

Emaar unveils $1.2bn Bahia Bay

Emaar Properties and ONA Group, the Moroccan industrial and financial group, has unveiled its second international venture in Morocco, the $1.2bn Bahia Bay. The project will see the joint venture develop a 530 hectare residential golfing community along the picturesque Moroccan coast near to Casablanca. This follows the venture's first project launch last month in Morocco - Amelkis II, a luxury residential golfing complex in Marrakech.

Nakheel, golf land auction

Dubai Waterfront masterplan

Dubai Waterfront, the world's largest waterfront development, has announced the completion of its masterplan by architects Gruzen Samton. This includes a detailed plan of Phase One of the Madinat Al Arab. Plans have been provided for each investor detailing their land plot's size and location, and building restrictions.

Jumana Tower, Dubai Pearl launch

The Jumana Tower on the Dubai Pearl is to be launched tomorrow at the showroom of Omnix in Wafi City, with up to 70% finance available. The tower is part of the Dubai Pearl complex which includes an arts centre, shopping mall and metro station and overlooks the Palm Jumeirah.

AD, $13bn projects by 2007

Abu Dhabi is set to launch $13bn worth of new real estate projects over the next two years, according to a study commissioned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company. Officials said the new property law was the obvious driving force.

Dar Investment has launched the $218m Palm Towers shaped like a palm tree in a strategic location in Doha. Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jasem bin Jabr Al Thani said Qatar has opened the door to property investment and will see a property boom similar to what is happening in Dubai.

Adnec's $272m exhibition centre

Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company is planning to build a new exhibition centre in the capital at an estimated cost of $272m, reported the Khaleej Times. The complex, which includes a hotel, will have the capacity to host all the company's exhibitions. The project is waiting approval, with a decision expected by the end of November.

Arabtec, $105m DIFC tunnel

Dubai-based Arabtec has won a $105m contract to build a tunnel under the Dubai International Financial Centre. Arabtec says the tunnel will provide service vehicle access within the DIFC zone and reduce surface traffic.

Manazel, middle class housing

Manazel, the Abu Dhabi-based real estate firm, is finalising plans for its four residential and commercial property projects in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The firm is building freehold properties for medium and low-income residents in the country, a segment that has been largely ignored by developers, according to Chairman Mohammed Al Qubaisi. Details of the projects will be announced in part in January 2006.
