The Dubai Summer Surprises' Fun Adventure Surprises Week kicks off tomorrow, the sixth week of the 10-week long festival. Some of the activities in shopping malls include live scientific experiments, a performance of Peter Pan, tribal dancing, games and Red Indian adventures.

The Abu Dhabi Duty Free is to expand its outlet at the Ghuwaifat Check Post with Saudi Arabia. More than 1.6m people a year pass across this border whether entering Saudi Arabia for the Haj or Umrah or going to the UAE for shopping and tourism.
Dubai based Popley Group plans to open 10 new jewellery stores by the end of 2006, and is opening its largest outlet to date in the Meena Bazaar in the heart of Bur Dubai. The 5,000 sqft outlet is part of a $19.2m expansion programme for the group.

A month-long fundraising event for the Rashid Pediatric Centre at the Abu Dhabi Mall is experiencing a steady and growing response from the public. The Emke Group is to manage the Al Wahda Mall, the new 1.5m sqft shopping mall being built in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The mall will house 250 international retail brands and a 200,000 sqft hypermarket with 2,000 car parking spaces. Emke intends to open 12 hypermarkets across the GCC and Yemen by the end of 2006.

Saudi Arabian giant Savola Group has announced that group is to establish its first hypermarket at the upcoming Dubai Festival City. The $10m project is under construction and is expected to open on April 1, 2006 on an area of 150,000 sqft, reported Arab News.
