KSA readies e-Government portal

The Kingdom's march toward e-Government is to include the announcement of a portal shortly, Communications and Information Technology Commission Governor Dr. Mohammed Al-Suwaiyel told Arab News. He said the education sector was not being ignored and a concrete practical approach was being adopted to expand the use of computers among students.

IDC puts HP top for server sales

New market data released by IDC for Q2 revealed that HP is the market leader in regional International Standards Servers sales in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. In the UAE, HP has a 65.7 per cent market share, with an annual growth rate that exceeds that of the market by 5.5 points. In neighbouring Saudi Arabia, HP has a 40.8 per cent share and 50 per cent in Egypt.
