Abu Dhabi is to set up a health insurance company that will provide medical insurance policies for expatriates, according to a statement by the General Authority for Health Services. Employers will pay premiums for their staff, and the insurance will cover all primary healthcare centres with patients to pay from 20-50 per cent of treatment costs. The scheme is due to start in September.
