Ningxia also has vast fertile land reserves. With extensive irrigation facilities and abundant sunshine at its disposal, Ningxa, in the recent years, has emerged as leading producers of fruit and grain as well as a centre for animal husbandry. The region produces grapes, wolfberries, potatoes, rice, corn, wheat, sheep and cattle. It produces half of the world's cashmere.
