  • PRESS RELEASE

International legal practice Norton Rose Group has promoted 23 lawyers to Of Counsel and Special Counsel. Eleven have been promoted to Of Counsel and twelve to Special Counsel, the Australian equivalent. The move follows the announcement of 36 promotions to partner and director level across the Group in May.

There are twelve promotions in Australia, six in Europe, three in Asia, and one each in Canada and the Middle East.

Fourteen of the twenty-three promotions (61%) are women.

The promotions were made across Norton Rose Group's three global practice groups of banking (nine promotions), litigation and dispute resolution (eight promotions), and corporate (six promotions).

Peter Martyr, Group Chief Executive, Norton Rose Group commented: "Our new Of Counsels and Special Counsels come from a range of geographies and practice areas, and will play vital roles as we continue to grow the business. These promotions show the depth of talent we have across the Group, coming as they do on the back of an equally strong partner and director promotions round."

The promotions will strengthen all the six key industry areas of Norton Rose Group: financial institutions; energy; infrastructure, mining and commodities; transport; technology and innovation; and pharmaceuticals and life sciences.
