NOVA to organise free medical camp in lieu of World Diabetes Day

Awareness is the first step in the challenging battle against diabetes. In keeping with this and the upcoming 'World Diabetes Day (14th November)', NOVA Medical Centre Muscat will organise a free camp on the early detection of diabetes at its polyclinic in Al Khuwair on November 13th from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
"Ever since our inception, health camps and check-up have been an integral part of our medical services. We try and organise these camps at regular intervals trying to help as many people as we can," says Dr. D.N.Joshi, Medical Director and Internist at NOVA Medical Center Muscat.
He elaborates, "Diabetes is a silent killer that can be managed through astute medication and lifestyle changes. We have planned this camp in keeping with 'World Diabetes Day'; and through it we aim to help increase awareness about diabetic complications. We also want to stress on how important regular blood and pressure checkups are to lead a better and long life."
"Our experts from internal medicine and laboratory medicine will be available to address any doubts and questions from patients at the camp. Early diagnosis will not only prevent health complications but also money that is spent on complications that occur due to diabetes. We hope that as many as possible benefit from this camp.
