Oman Air selects Hamilton Sundstrand as the maintenance provider for the APS2300 Auxiliary Power Unit

Oman Air has selected Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation for a long-term agreement to be the maintenance provider for the APS2300 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) on its existing fleet of five Embraer 175 series aircraft. Hamilton Sundstrand is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.
"Hamilton Sundstrand is excited to begin a relationship with Oman Air, an important customer in the Middle East region," said Eileen Drake, vice president and general manager, Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems. "Oman Air will be a key customer and we are grateful for the opportunity to support their growth with the APS2300 APU."
Oman Air's Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Pearce, added, "Oman Air is pleased to have signed a long-term contract with Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems. We are confident that they will deliver the highest possible standards of maintenance for our Embraer E175 fleet, which offers a fast, safe and reliable service for customers on our regional services, together with an outstanding passenger experience."
Established in 1993, Oman Air has experienced significant growth and has played a major role in making Muscat, its headquarters, an important traffic hub in the Middle East. The airline currently operates direct international flights from Muscat to 43 destinations across the Middle East, Europe, East Africa and Asia.
The APS2300 APU is designed and produced by Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems, based in San Diego, Calif., which currently has more than 13,000 APUs in commercial and military service.
With 2011 revenues of $6.2bn, Hamilton Sundstrand is headquartered in Windsor Locks, Conn. Among the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products, the company designs, manufactures and services aerospace systems and provides integrated system solutions for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft. It also is a major supplier for international space programs.
United Technologies Corp., based in Hartford, Conn., is a diversified company providing high technology products and services to the building and aerospace industries worldwide.
