Oman awards OR14.5m fishing harbour project

Oman's Tender Board has awarded Turkish engineering and contracting, STFA, a OR14.5m contract for the construction of a mid-sized fishing harbour in the wilayat of Taqah, in Dhofar governorate, Muscat Daily has reported, citing industry sources. The contractor said it has not yet received a letter from the board. "I think we will have letter of award from the ministry within 10-15 days," a company executive told the daily. The Taqah harbour work broadly consists of construction of a 150m-long concrete quay line, construction of 1,783m breakwater, reclamation works, roads and pavements, dredging of harbour basin to 5m depth, marina facility and slipway. The contract duration is 19 months including three months of mobilisation, the executive said.
