Oman's higher education ministry has said its internal scholarship department has granted financial aid to 271 students and opened the registration process for a second set of grants, Muscat Daily has reported. "Students who have passed the General Diploma or an equivalent qualification between 2006 and 2010 with at least 65% marks are eligible to apply," said Abdulmonaim bin Ahmed al Maamari, director of the internal scholarship department. "They should major in a programme that the ministry has offered scholarships for. Further, they should have completed their first academic term in a private college or university with at least a 2.5 point grade," he added.
