Oman India Fertilizer Company to support Traffic Safety Expo 2012

To increase efforts to curb road accidents in the country, the third Oman Traffic Safety Expo 2012 will be held from 16th-18th October, 2012 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

The event will be inaugurated by HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communication at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on 16th October, 2012. Omifco will be lending support to the Traffic Safety Expo 2012 as Lanyard Sponsor.

"In order to meet the expectations of shareholders, the local community and other stakeholders, our employees are our most valuable assets and their safety in all aspects is our prime concern." says Eng / Ahmed bin Ali al-Awfi CEO, Omifco.

He continues "At Omifco our mission to achieve a culture of excellence, team spirit and responsibility between members working in the company includes incorporation of road safety measures among our employees via encouraging them to maintain vigilance at all times while on the road, thus avoiding unwelcome accidents and injuries that could lead to damage of property or loss of life. Following the traffic rules and regulations and keeping recklessness in check will go a long way in bringing down the rate of accidents in Oman"

The Oman India Fertiliser Company SAOC (OMIFCO) is owned 50% by Oman Oil Company SAOC (OOC), 25% by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) & 25% by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO). OMIFCO has been established as the result of an initiative by the Governments of Oman & India in order to construct, own and operate a modern world scale two-train ammonia - urea fertiliser manufacturing plant at the Sur Industrial Estate in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Traffic Safety Expo 2012 receiving participation from both local and international exhibitors will put the latest technologies, products, services, solutions, measures, practices in the spotlight in a bid to promote road safety measures and reduce road accidents in the Sultanate.
