Oman Information Technology Authority trains IT job seekers

As part of its continuous efforts to provide training programmes for the society, Information Technology Authority (ITA) started a specialized training programme for job seekers in the field of Information Technology.

The programme aims to provide fresh graduates with the theoretical and practical experience in IT to be ready to join the labor market, through the implementation of a range of training seminars on Microsoft technologies as well as to participate actively in projects implemented by the company implementing the programme in collaboration with the ITA. The first group of the trainees started in January, 2013, and more batches will take the training during this year.

The training programme is part of Microsoft software licenses for government institutions, signed by ITA with Microsoft, and implemented by International Information Technology Company (IITC), aiming to provide government institutions with the latest software and technologies offered by the company through the training courses.

Noting that the training programme for IT job seekers defined the objectives and registration conditions through different presentations presented by the implementation team in the specialized colleges to choose 90 job seekers from the BA degree holders in IT to be divided later into 6 groups; each of 15 people. Being Omani, obtaining a GP of at least 2.0 and being a graduate of the year 2010 onwards, are the affiliation criteria in this programme.
