- PRESS RELEASE
The grandest automotive show in Oman is set to dazzle motoring enthusiasts when it draws up the curtains once again from December 11 to 14 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
This feature is apart from the main exhibit of the latest automotive products and services and a thrilling display of traditional and revolutionary top-of-the-line models from the world's finest brands.
For the first time in Motor Show, there will be an Outdoor Adventure Zone that is sure to elicit the greatest interest from adventure and extreme sports aficionados. The Zone will showcase FMX bikers by Red Bull, a drifting tournament organized by the Oman Evo Team, a driving challenge and a test drive course.
A remarkable array of prized rally cars will also be on exhibit. Equally exciting and entertaining will be the Gaming and Fun Zone, which will include car video games and iRace's selection of cool and innovative radio-controlled cars that will offer interactive and educational fun.
A special Kids' Zone will also be introduced to amuse children and adults alike, while a grand raffle draw with prizes sponsored by Exclusive Technology Partner Samsung will culminate the event.
"Motor Show 2012 is a must-visit year-ender event. It offers something to everyone--all age groups and segments. The enthusiasm that the show expects to receive will reflect the enthusiasm given to this ever-growing sector," said Motor Show's project manager Ammar Ahmad.
Another significant addition to Motor Show's line-up of firsts is the opening of the show by celebrity chief guests. Road safety demonstrations that will offer a relevant educational element will be presented by traffic safety authorities ROP, Civil Defence and Oman's leading road safety organization, Safety First.
General Manager for Operations Nader Abbas said, "We are taking bold and innovative steps to truly enhance this event in the aim of bringing together the global auto community and attracting regional and global attention to Oman."
He added that the government has identified automotive as one of Oman's most important sectors and its plan to develop it as an investment source is parallel to Omanexpo's goal to grow the show in line with the sector's growth. The show's growth, in turn, will help promote the advancement of the industry by creating trade opportunities and presenting products and services in demand by the sector.
Oman International Motor Show was launched in 1990 and has since been held every two years. It received international status as a UFI-approved event in 2009.
