Oman Ministry of Tourism confirms attendance at MICE Arabia Congress in Doha

Oman's Ministry of Tourism has confirmed attendance at the MICE Arabia Congress taking place in Doha on February 27th and 28th 2013. Mr Khalid Al Zadjali, Director of Tourism Events and Cruise Shipping will attend as an invited speaker, demonstrating the Ministry's increasing focus on business and meetings tourism.

According to Director Al Zadjali "MICE Arabia Congress is a timely event as we need to work regionally to build business and meetings tourism. We have leading airlines, hotels and visitor experiences but the region attracts a relatively small proportion of international and global events. I am sure this will be an important area of discussion among delegates".

Meanwhile Oman's Tourism Development company (OMRAN) is on track with the construction of Oman's 3,200 seat Convention and Exhibition Centre (opening 2016), backed by four hotels totaling 1,000 rooms. The project is a game-changer for Oman's entry into the global business meetings industry. The Ministry believes enhancement activities both pre and post meetings will bring economic benefits to regional communities.

"The Centre's opening will broaden and deepen our market base and boost Oman's profile as a unique and vibrant destination for authenticity, heritage, nature and adventure" he continued.

Organised by QnA International, MICE Arabia Congress is bringing together Government officials, marketing and administrative heads, travel managers, academicians, event directors, PR and communication heads, incentives experts and hospitality service providers to discuss the importance of business tourism in the GCC region.

The congress includes educational keynotes, interactive panel discussions, brainstorming sessions, pre arranged business meetings and networking sessions.
