Oman mulling Khasab port development
- Oman: Wednesday, April 03 - 2013 at 06:00
Oman's transport ministry is conducting a detailed study to develop Khasab port, as well as the second phase of Shinas harbour, Times of Oman has reported. The move is part of a government initiative to develop small-to-medium-sized harbours and ports to create gateways for maritime trade, and attract both domestic and international tourists, the ministry said. "The study is for determining the size of the port. We have limitations on land due to mountains there," said the undersecretary of ports and marine affairs at the ministry, Said bin Hamdoon Al Harthy.
