Oman Shipping Company expands its fleet with MR2 Tanker STEALTH BAHLA

Oman Shipping Company S.A.O.C. (OSC) has taken delivery of a Chemical/Oil Tanker "STEALTH BAHLA". Built in South Korea in 2009, at 46,000 DWT the Vessel has a Crude Oil capacity of 331,000 barrels.

This is OSC's third Medium Range (MR) size Tanker and the fourth Bareboat Charter vessel it has taken into the fleet this year from StealthGas Inc.

With this addition the Company's fleet now consists of 40 vessels with a total DWT of 6m. The Company expects to take delivery of 5 more vessels in the 2nd half 2012 comprising 1 Very large Crude Carrier (317,000 DWT) and 4 Very Large Ore Carriers (400,000 DWT each).

"STEALTH BAHLA" will be commercially managed by Oman Charter Company S.A.O.C. (OCC), and will be technically managed by Oman Ship Management Company S.A.O.C. (OSMC), both wholly owned subsidiaries of OSC. By the year end OSMC will directly manage a fleet of 23vessels, in-house, from its Muscat Headquarters.

OSC Group results for 1st Half 2012 recorded a 13% increase in operating profit to $95m compared to the same period in 2011. Revenues increased 33% to $166m and costs increased 26% to $72m, whilst the fleet size expanded from 28 vessels to the current 40 vessels within 12 months.
