Omani transport and communication minister, Dr Ahmed al Futaisi has announced the official launch of a testing and training centre for Muscat International and Salalah Airports to offer training programmes for the stakeholders and mitigating risks associated with airport operations, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The new centre is part of a OR127m contract awarded in July 2011 by the ministry to Ultra Electronics for the implementation of the master system integration package for the two facilities. It aims at testing the airport equipment and mitigating operational risks. It will also help to design training and development programmes for the staff of both airports.
