Oman United Insurance posts 138% surge in net income

Oman United Insurance Co (OUIC) has reported a 138% surge in full-year net profit to OR2.6m from OR1.1m in 2011, Muscat Daily has reported. Gross written premium rose 20% to OR36.3m in 2012, while gross underwriting income dropped six% to OR3.1m from OR3.3m a year ago. OUIC's total investment income almost tripled to OR3m in 2012 from OR1m.
